Ingredients
For Flavor Infusion (Tempering/ Tadka)
- 1 Tablespoon Ghee or Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 Tablespoon Channa dal
- 1/4 Teaspoon Asafetida
- 3 Slit or Chopped finely Green Chillies
- 6 to 8 Curry leaves
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Poha
- 1 Chopped Red onion
- 1 Chopped Potato (Medium)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- Salt To Taste
- 2 to 3 Tablespoons Salted Peanuts
- 1/4 Cup Water
For Garnish
- Juice of 2 key limes
- A handfull of chopped cilantro

Method
- 1)
Wash the Poha (flattened rice) strain the water and keep aside in a bowl
- 2)
Take a cooking vessel and add the flavor infusion (tempering) ingredients
- 3)
When the mustard seeds splutters, add the peanuts and saute for a minute until its brown
- 4)
Add chopped onion and saute until it is transparent
- 5)
Add the potato, turmeric powder, salt and water
- 6)
Mix nicely and keep the stove on low flame (sim), cover and cook for about 5 minutes until the potato is al dente
- 7)
Add the Poha and mix until all the flavors are combined
- 8)
Garnish with lime juice and cilantro
- 9)
Enjoy when its hot
Notes
Option: You can add peas and carrots if you like vegetables
