Ingredients
For Rice Cooker
- 1 Cup White rice
- 3 Cups Water
Other ingredients
- 1 Quart Plain yogurt, (homemade or store bought)
- 2 Tablespoons Sour cream, (Optional)
- 3 Tablespoons Plain milk
- Salt To taste
For Flavoring (Tadka)
- 1 Tablespoon Cooking oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 Teaspoon Asafetida
- 6 Curry leaves
- 1/4 Inch piece Ginger, (finely chopped)
- 1 Green Chilli, (Optional)
- 1 Tablespoon Urad Dhal
Garnish
- A handfull Cilantro, (finely chopped)
Method
Preparation
- 1)
Add all the ‘For rice cooker’ ingredients and cook on white rice mode in the rice cooker.
- 2)
When the rice is cooked and hot, add the milk and salt and mix nicely
- 3)
Now add the yogurt and sour cream and mix again until blended well
- 4)
In the stove, take a small sauce pan and add all the tadka ingredients
- 5)
Once the mustard seeds splutter pour the tadka into the mixed yogurt rice
- 6)
Garnish with cilantro

Yogurt rice is ready to be served. Tastes amazing with Indian pickle
