- 2 Cut Bitter gourds
- 1 Teaspoon Tamarind Paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Jaggery
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- Salt To Taste
For Tempering (Tadka)
- 2 Tablespoons Cooking oil
- 1 Slit Green Chilli
- 1 Red Chilli
- 1/2 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
- A pinch of Asafetida
- 3 to 4 Curry leaves
Method
Grinding
- 1)
Grind the cut bitter gourd in a mixer/ blender and keep aside
To make the thokku
- 1)
Take a saucepan and add the ‘for tempering’ ingredients
- 2)
When the mustard splutters add the ground mixture and saute for 8 minutes (or until the raw smell goes away)
- 3)
Add tamarind paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, jaggery and salt and mix nicely for a couple of minutes

Mix until it stops sticking in the pan.
