Typically made as a side dish, this is a super simple and healthy recipe that I make regularly. This goes very well with chappatis or with rice. Every time I make this, I think of my school days when Mom used to pack this for lunch. It was one of the favorites on the menu, not only for me but for all my friends. My personal favorite, and anytime go to food – yogurt rice. When your tummy does not feel too good, when you are not sure what to make for a quick meal and friends are coming over, kinds hungry… this is something you cannot go wrong with. This is also a good lunch box recipe for kids.

This is a very simple and easy dish, generally made in traditional Indian homes to go along with rice, pappad (chips) and paruppu usili (side of veggies). The beauty of this dish is that it can be part of the menu for a feast, or for a hearty lunch on any day. (Kuzhambu means gravy)
